Andrea Gulyás

Her meticulously , in some cases, even hyper-realistically painted works resemble the magic realism of René Magritte, the metaphysical art of Giorgio de Chirico. The flummoxingly magnified objects appearing in her paintings are of symbolical significance, her pictures are mind-provoking, they open doors to an entirely abstract and captivating world. The gigantic realistic human organs, incongruous items, the uncertainly extended spaces, ambivalent materials and figures, objects turned inside out all allow of rather unique associations.
