Dezső LÁSZLÓ-KISS

Dezső László-Kiss was born in 1953 in Budapest. He studied in Budapest (a Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design) and in London (Ealing College and School of Art). He has been exhibiting since 1987, generally known as graphic artist. He cofounded Barakk Csoport (Barakk Group) in 2009.

He builds on identity, self-recognition, real existence, he takes it as an axiom that what we know we also can depict. Existence as an ever relative phenomenon – mostly at a constant location, within the composition of a fragmented environment – is characteristic of these works. These pictures are concerned with humans and their immediate environment, the world of objects that surrounds them. They are works that purposefully avoid grand motifs or direct reflections on the historical or social situation. Visual motifs of this kind transform the viewer into an "aesthetic" being, one that is able to connect with other people. "The Other - we don't know what that is. Not only do we not spend enough time together - we are not together at all. We are losing the sensuality of the Other!" /Péter Halász/
